Recycled Silver Pendant

Each ball was made from scrap sterling silver that were melted down individually. I’ve had fun melting down scrap bezel wire in the past and am looking forward to making my own sheet. I own a rolling mill and recently purchased a crucible which is essential in the task of melting. Metalsmiths usually return their scrap metal to larger suppliers who in turn cut us a check for the weight of what we return. Lately it has been increasingly difficult to find a supplier who will pay out appropriately or do it on a small scale. I do like the idea of reusing my scrap and adding it into new pieces.
